NEWS & RECORD: Manning is the strong candidate 13th needs

November midterm elections are seven months away. However the 2018 election cycle is already beginning. May 8 is primary election day. Registered Democratic voters and registered independents must pay close attention to the Democratic primary in the 13th District. We need a strong candidate to run successfully against Republican Ted Budd, the incumbent in the U.S. House.

Kathy Manning is that candidate. In her 30 years in Greensboro Kathy has achieved a successful career as a partner in a major law firm and as a small-business owner. She has proven her expertise as the first female leader of an international charitable organization.

Kathy is well recognized as a community leader through her support of the arts and education. She embraces issues important to the family and has a strong record supporting equal opportunities and justice for all people.

District 13 includes Greensboro, High Point and at least parts of Davidson, Rowan, Davie and Iredell counties. Kathy has crisscrossed this district, meeting constituents and listening to their issues.

We need a representative in Washington who supports these issues, not someone who votes with the Republican herd. (Check Budd’s voting record.) District 13 needs Kathy Manning in Congress.

Early voting dates begin this month. Let’s get out the vote for Kathy and win this primary.
